Nordic Runes and Historical Bye-ways
From the history-filled streets of Edinburgh to the idyllic Orkney Isles. This tour can start in either Edinburgh or Glasgow, there is so much to visit in both of them and there are distilleries in easy reach too.

Day 1 - is based on the City of Edinburgh with a visit to the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre and a guided tour of the city. In the evening, sampling fine malts in the Scotch Malt Whisky Society's bar in Leith followed by dinner in one of the old port's excellent restaurants.
Glenkinchie Museum

Day 2 - To Glenkinchie to see one of the two remaining Lowland distilleries still working. Then north to Glenturret, Scotland's oldest distillery before returning to Edinburgh. A tutored tasting by the Distillery Destinations team followed by dinner.

Day 3 - Free time in Edinburgh before taking the afternoon flight to Orkney.

Highland Park
Day 4 -
Choose your own sightseeing schedule from the list of things to do on Orkney. In season we can organise fishing if that is your sport. After lunch a visit to Scotland's most northerly distillery, Highland Park, which is one of the few distilleries still malting its own barley. Dinner in your hotel.

Day 5 -
A further day on the beautiful Orkney Isles - if weather permits a trip to another island may be possible. Dinner at a restaurant on the island.

Day 6- Fly back from the Orkney Isles. If you wish to stay on the mainland for a few days we can organise an extension to your tour.

Glengoyne Distillery

NB:-
If starting in Glasgow, your first visit will be Glengoyne distillery, just on the Highland side of the "whisky line" separating the two regions. Then sightseeing in the fine city of Glasgow.
