WHERE THERE'S AN ISLAND TOUR
This special tour takes you round some of our beautiful islands
with time to see historic houses and castles as well as visiting
some of the more remote whisky distilleries. We have now added
in the delightful island of Mull to this tour.
This nearly two week tour begins and ends in Glasgow with a visit
to either Glengoyne or Auchentoshan, not too far from the city.
Your first island call is Islay with its amazing number of distilleries
and we will take you to several of them.
Next stop is Mull with its one distillery at Tobermory and plenty
of sightseeing interest before going on to Skye with its impressive
mountains and Talisker Distillery tucked along at the end of a
single track road in a lovely location at Carbost. Time for some
castle visits here too. From Skye we take you back to the mainland
for a couple of nights and visits on Speyside before we take you
over to Orkney - the far northern isles with their Viking influence.
Here the attraction is Highland Park, the most northerly distillery
(the new one proposed for Shetland is not open yet) and some magnificent
scenery plus historic sights including the Italian Chapel, St.Magnus
Cathedral and the ancient dwelling sites of Skara Brae and Maes
Howe.
Then a return to the mainland by air and one night in Glasgow
before your final island - Arran where you can enjoy the lush,
green scenery and the taste of Arran Single Malt.
Start dates for this tour 23 April, 25 June and 17 September
2006. Price £2520 sharing a twin or double room.
Single supplements apply. Cost includes all accommodations with
breakfasts, transport around Scotland and dinners on selected
nights.
Must reserve at least 6 weeks prior to start date.
